The Primavera arrived today, what a beautiful looking original scooter, delivered by a very good bike courier who only charged £80 to ship from London to Newcastle in a dedicated bike courier van too, so the worry of it arriving strapped next to 2 washing machines and an old cooker were cast aside when it arrived, by itself in the back of the van, in a bike carrier and securely strapped.

Started the Vespa up and it sounded sweet, still in its original colour and with two sets of keys too, its a really lovely example.

I took it for a quick spin around the block, and the difference between the 125cc engine and my 90cc is unbelievable..!! It’s started me thinking that the V90 is a very tired engine now and needs rebuilt. have started looking for a donor engine and 4 speed box for the V90 right now.
The primmy is gorgeous and seems a shame to do anything to it, photos to follow soon.

British Vespa 90SS racer Tony O’Brien has a new website up and running, with lots of great info and insights into racing a vespa scooter around Europe.
Tony races, maintains the Vespa himself, see an extract from his history page below, click for more info. http://www.green-hornet.co.uk
An extract of Tony’s race history is below, click through to the green hornet site for more useful info on his Tuned Vespa 90 SS.
It all started back in 1985 for me watching the race scooters at Donington that made me catch the bug. After attending many meetings the following year as a spectator I started making attempts to buy the rare Vespa 90 Super Sprint. After some help from a spectator (i’m sure his name was Dave) who called me to say he’d found one, checked it for me and although it needed tlc it was perfect for racing…..click here for more
